ILLINOIS – The Carthage College Lady Reds tennis team won a pair of road matches on Saturday against a pair of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin teams, defeating Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, and Millikin University in Decatur. 
 
The pair of wins by the Lady Reds improves them to 5-2 in dual matches and in the CCIW, while IWU fell to 3-5 and 2-4 in the league, and dropped Millikin to 5-6 and 1-4.
 
Carthage 8, Illinois Wesleyan 1
Carthage opened the day with a sweep of the doubles competition against the Titans, as Angelica Emmanouil and Max Mella, Casey Frommer and Natalie Favia, and Laurer Woznicki and Hannah Haeberle won their matches handedly.
 
Carthage then took 5-of-6 doubles matches with straight-set wins by Mella, Emmanouil, Favia and Maria Salerno in singles two, three, four and six.

In the afternoon match, Carthage opened with another strong doubles performance, taking 2-of-3 with Emmanouil and Mella, and Frommer and Favia winning the doubles one and two respectively.
 
To wrap the day up, the Lady Reds repeated with another five wins in the singles competition, as Frommer, Mella, Emmanouil, Favia and Salerno all claimed victories.

The Lady Reds will closeout their home fall slate on Monday, October 9th as they face non-conference foe, the Illinois Institute of Technology at Smeds Tennis Center at 4:30 p.m.
