CHICAGO, Ill. – The Carthage College women's tennis team was forced indoors on Saturday, moving to Schaumburg Tennis Plus, where the Lady Reds blanked the North Central College Cardinals, 9-0.
The win finishes the Lady Reds' fall regular season at 7-2 and 6-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, while North Central falls to 3-8 and 1-6 in the CCIW.
Carthage opened the day with a trio of dominant performances in doubles competition.
Max Mella and
Angelica Emmanouil won 8-1,
Natalie Favia and
Lauren Woznicki won 8-0, and
Anna Spencer and
Hannah Haeberle won 8-2.
The Lady Reds followed that up with six two-set wins in the singles competition by Mella in the one, Emmanouil two, Favia three, Woznicki four,
Maria Salerno five and Spencer six.

Next up for the Lady Reds, Carthage will head to Hanover Park, Illinois for the 2017 CCIW Women's Tennis Championships. The three-day competition will begin Thursday, October 19th and run until Saturday, October 21st.
