Women's Tennis Dominates Carroll Wednesday To Move To 2-1 In CCIW

Final Results

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carthage College Lady Reds rebounded after dropping their last two dual matches with a 9-0 win over College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe Carroll University , Wednesday at the Kilgour-Trailblazer Courts.
 
The win moves the Lady Reds to 3-2 overall in 2016 and 2-1 in the CCIW, while the Pioneers fall to 7-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference.
 
Carthage opened the afternoon action a sweep of the doubles action.  In the doubles one match Max Mella and Angelica Emmanouil won, 8-4, Casey Frommer and Kristen Kalinka took the two doubles, 8-4, and  Eliza Barter and Natalie Favia completed the sweep with an 8-5 win.
 
The Lady Reds didn't take their foot off the pedal in the singles matches as Carthage the same six that played in doubles each cruised to straight set victories to polish-off the Pioneers for the 9-0 shutout.
 
The lady Reds will return home for a pair of weekend CCIW matches this weekend, beginning Friday, October 7th with Wheaton University at 4:00 p.m. followed by Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.  Both matches are slated to be played this weekend at SMEDS Tennis Center.
