Women's Tennis Season Ends With AQ Semifinal Loss To Wheaton

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The third-seeded Carthage College Lady Reds' season came to an end Friday with a semifinal loss at the 2016 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tennis Automatic Qualifier Tournament, falling to Wheaton College 5-0 at Augustana College's Lower Campus Courts.

With the loss the Lady Reds finish their 2015-16 campaign at 15-9 overall following a 5-2 CCIW record in the fall, which qualified Carthage for the AQ tournament.

Carthage dropped each of their three doubles matches to open the afternoon as Casey Frommer and Angelica Emmanouil fell 8-5, Max Mella and Taylor Bolyard fell 8-6, and Kristen Kalinka and Eliza Barter fell 8-4.

Unfortunately for the Lady Reds things did not turn in their favor in the singles competition as Wheaton took the match following wins in the three and five singles matches to take the 5-0 lead.  With the match being played to decision, the remainder of the matches went unfinished.
