LAKE FOREST, ILL.—The Carthage College women's tennis team was originally scheduled to play UW-Eau Claire and Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Red's match with UW-Eau Claire scheduled for 12:00 p.m. today was cancelled. This allowed for the Lady Red's match at Lake Forest College to be moved to 12:00 p.m.

Carthage's match with the Foresters was their final one before the 2016 CCIW Women's Tennis Automatic Qualifier Tournament, scheduled for April 29-30 at Augustana College.

Carthage, who is #15 in the latest regional rankings, has clocked in one victory in their past two matches. That victory occurred in an 8-1 decision against future CCIW-foe Carroll University on April 10.

Casey Frommer has won three of her last four singles-matches, which paces the Lady Reds as of late. That trend continued for Carthage as they defeated Lake Forest College 9-0.

The doubles tandem of
Eliza Barter and
Kristen Kalinka registered an 8-1 victory over Alex Kopish/Whitney Navarro to begin the afternoon. Frommer/
Angelica Emmanouil tallied an 8-6 win over Christi Valicenti/Grace Dowling.

Taylor Bolyard notched a 9-7 win over Allison Watts/Lucia Stumbras to round out the Lady Reds in double play.

Carthage capitalized on a sweep in the singles flight. Kalinka tallied a 6-0, 6-1 win over Alex Kopish to begin singles play. Peterson followed that with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Whitney Navarro. Bolyard finished with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Watts while Emmanouil tallied a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Stumbras.

Frommer tallied her third-straight singles victory as she defeated Dowling 6-2, 6-4. Mella rounded out the Lady Reds in singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Valicenti.

Carthage will take on Wheaton College in the first match of the 2016 CCIW Women's Tennis Automatic Qualifier Tournament on Friday, April 29. Match time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
