KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College softball team will embark on five-doubleheaders during the week of April 11. The Lady Reds will travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College for a non-conference doubleheader this afternoon that is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. Carthage will take on Wheaton College on Wednesday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m. before hosting Carroll University on Thursday, April 14 at 3:00 p.m.

The Lady Reds will close the week with CCIW doubleheaders at Millikin University on Saturday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m., and North Park University on Sunday, April 17 at 3:00 p.m.

ABOUT WISCONSIN LUTHERAN COLLEGE (11-5, 3-1 NACC)Â
The Warriors have won five of their last six games, with their only loss coming to Milwaukee School of Engineering 4-3 (15 innings) on Saturday, April 9. They participated in the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. on March 6-11, where they finished with a 6-4 mark.

The Warriors finished last season with a 12-27 record, good enough for an 11
th place finish in the NACC.

Freshman P/OF Libby Schellpfeffer leads the Warrior sluggers with a .418 batting average, .564 slugging percentage and six doubles. Schellpfeffer's 11 RBI is good enough for third on the team.

Freshman Abby Mahsem paces the Wisconsin Lutheran pitching staff with a 0.57 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 37.0 innings of work on the season.

ABOUT WHEATON COLLEGE (18-4, 4-0 CCIW)Â
The Thunder are currently riding a six-game win streak that includes sweeps over Benedictine University on March 31, Augustana College on April 2, and North Park University on April 5.

Wheaton played their spring games in Clermont, Fla., where they finished with a 7-3 mark. The Thunder's losses on the season came against Misericordia University (5-0) on March 7, Lees-Mcrae College (4-3) on March 8, Marywood University (8-7) on March 10, and Calvin College (8-0) on March 29.

Senior P/1B Katie Thornton leads the Thunder with a .448 batting average. Senior U Christina Sandstedt carries a .377 batting average and leads the team with five home runs, 25 RBI and a .725 slugging percentage. Thornton carries the load on the pitching rubber with a 0.90 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 85.2 innings of work for the Thunder this season.

ABOUT CARROLL UNIVERSITY (13-7, 5-1 MWC)Â
The Pioneers will join the Lady Reds in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin next season, but for now they are a member of the Midwest Conference.

Carroll University is coming off a 7-0 and 12-7 sweep on April 10, and won't compete again until their showdown with the Lady Reds on April 14. Kelly Strasser leads the Carroll lineup with a .467 batting average, .750 slugging percentage and three home runs.

Shelby Sommers leads the Pioneer pitching staff with a 3.22 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 58.2 innings of work on the season.

ABOUT MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY (11-9, 0-2 CCIW)Â
The Big Blue opened CCIW play with 7-6 and 5-3 losses to North Central College on April 9. Millikin competed in Clermont, Fla. for their spring games, where they finished with a 6-4 record. The Big Blue opened the season with a 2-2 record at the Rochester, Minn. Dome Tournament.

Millikin will face Illinois Wesleyan on April 13, and Loras College on April 14 in doubleheaders before their meeting with the Lady Reds on April 16. Kirsten Iverson currently leads the Big Blue sluggers with a .370 batting average. Alyssa Visvardis' four home runs, six doubles and 18 RBI paces Millikin.

Cathy Lebryk commands the Big Blue pitching staff with 72.2 innings pitched, a 3.47 ERA, 27 strikeouts and a .267 opponenet batting average.

ABOUT NORTH PARK UNIVERSITY ( 5-20, 2-4 CCIW)Â
The Vikings snapped a 14-game losing skid on April 10 with 3-1 and 10-2 victories over Augustana College. North Park University will face Elmhurst College on April 12, and the University of Chicago on April 15 in doubleheaders before their meeting with the Lady Reds.

Kelly Rosenbaum leads the North Park sluggers with a .348 batting average. Amara Leith paces the Vikings with seven doubles, 15 RBI and one home run. Katy Ortinau leads the North Park pitching staff with a 6.85 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 67.0 innings of work this season.
