ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The Carthage College men's tennis team continued their spring break matches Wednesday, March 22 at Sanlando Park in Altamont Springs, defeating Luther College and Lawrence University in a dominant manner, 7-2 and 9-0 respectively.

The two wins send the Red Men to 11-5 on the season, while dropping Luther to 9-6 and Lawrence to 6-5.

Carthage opened taking a 2-1 lead over Luther following the doubles competition, as the number one doubles team of
Pawel Jaworski and
Chris Conley won 8-5, and the two doubles squad of
Alex Boomgarden and
Ryan Jump won 8-1.

The Red Men followed their doubles matches up with convincing singles performances, taking five-of-six to lock up the win over the Norse; Each in straight sets. Boomgarden won the one singles over Kyle Appel [7-5, 6-2], Jump defeated Trent Schneider [7-5, 6-2], P. Jaworski knocked off Anders Jensen [7-5, 6-4], Conley topped Nate Parsons [7-5, 6-3], and
Lukasz Jaworski cruised past Isaiah Mayerchak [6-3, 6-3].

Carthage's nightcap was even more impressive, as the Red Men swept the Vikings in doubles and singles.

Carthage only dropped four total games in their three doubles matches as P. Jaworski and Conley, and L. Jaworski and
Fordy Leipold each won 8-2 respectively, while the two doubles team of Jump and Boomgarden won in a shutout, 8-0.

Carthage then continued their winning ways, sweeping each of the singles matches in straight sets. Boomgarden came from behind in the second set to win [6-3, 7-5] over David Jumes, Jump defeated Brian DeCorte [6-1, 6-1], P. Jaworski defeated Bill Schumann-Kline [6-2, 6-0],
Chris Conley beat Adam Busch [6-0, 6-1], L. Jaworski overpowered Ethan Perushele [6-0, 6-3], and
Brandon Stassen finished off the sweep with against Mitchell Kasperzyk [6-3, 6-4].

Men's tennis wraps up their spring break in Florida on Thursday when the Red Men face Midwest foe Grinnell College at Lake Cane Tennis Center at 9:00 AM.
