GREENSBORO, N.C.—A seven-game gauntlet on the road stood in front of the Carthage College women's lacrosse team on Tuesday afternoon, which began with a contest at Greensboro College. The Lady Red's biggest obstacle heading into the game was Kirstin Norris, who leads NCAA Division III in scoring with 61 points.

The Lady Reds did everything they could to contain Norris, but fell short in a 14-5 loss to the Pride.

Kara Vana built on her third-ranked 1.67 free position percentage when she tallied the Lady Red's first goal of the game with 17:34 left in the first half to narrow the Greensboro lead to 3-1. Norris responded :11 later with a goal to widen the Pride lead to 4-1.

The Lady Reds generated momentum after the Pride pushed their lead to 5-1 when
Mackenzie Day snagged a ground ball, which led to a string of shots. That momentum led to Day's goal with 2:34 left in the first half to narrow the Lady Red deficit to 5-2.

Norris notched her second goal of the contest with :18 left in the first half to make the score 6-2 at halftime.

The Lady Reds tallied three goals in the second frame.
Maggie Allen picked up a ground ball and converted on a clear, which set up
Kendell Santin's goal with 21:51 left in the second half to narrow the Greensboro lead to 8-3.

Maddie Griffin tallied the final two goals in the game for Carthage in a 14-5 loss.
Maggie Allen registered 14 saves in net for the Lady Reds.
Bryanna Barrera drew the game's lone penalty, a yellow card at the 10:48 mark of the second half.
