NEW BERLIN, Wis. – The Carthage College men's tennis team opened their 2016 spring in impressive fashion Saturday, knocking off Carroll University and Saint Mary's University (Minn.), to start 2-0 on the season.

The Red Men opened the day with an 8-1 win over Carroll as
Ryan Jump,
Pawel Jaworski,
Chris Conley,
Alex Ferruzzi and
Lukasz Jaworski won the singles two through six respectively and swept the doubles competition as P. Jaworski and Conley won 8-1,
Alex Boomgarden and Jump won 8-1, and L. Jaworski and
Fordy Leipold won 8-5.Â

In the second match of the day, the Red Men dominated Saint Mary's as Boomgarden, Jump, P. Jaworski, Conley, Ferruzzi and L. Jaworski swept the singles, never dropping more than three games in a set. In doubles; P. Jaworski and Conley, Boomgarden and Jump, and Ferruzzi and L. Jaworski cruised to 8-2, 8-2 and 8-3 wins respectively.

The Red Men return to action Sunday, February 14th as Carthage travels to Janesville, Wisconsin to face Edgewood College at 10:00 AM and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at 1:00 PM from Premier Tennis & Fitness.
