Lady Reds Cruise Past Millikin For First CCIW Win of 2015

DECATUR, Ill. – Carthage College women's tennis rebounded from their College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opening loss this past Friday as the Lady Reds cruised to victory over Millikin University, Monday afternoon, at the Fairview Park Tennis Center, shutting out the Big Blue, 9-0.
 
Carthage, now 1-1 in the CCIW, won their singles matches handedly as Max Mella, Casey Frommer, Eliza Barter, Taylor Bolyard, Angelica Emmanouil and Kirsten Peterson all won in straight sets.
 
The Lady Reds continued their success in doubles as Mella and Emmanouil won 8-5, Frommer and Bolyard won 8-5, and Barter and Kristen Kalinka closed out the perfect afternoon, 8-1.
 
The Lady Reds will be back in action this weekend as they head to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regionals hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Saint Peter, Minnesota.
