ResultsThe Carthage College men's track and field team (30-7 outdoor record) finished second at the Saturday, April 25 Wisconsin Private College Outdoor Track and Field Championship at St. Norbert College's Donald J. Schneider Stadium in De Pere, Wis.

St. Norbert won the seven-team event with 250 points, followed by Carthage second at 170, Ripon College third at 131, Concordia University (Wis.) fourth at 100, Wisconsin Lutheran College fifth at 39, Lakeland College sixth at 10 and Edgewood College seventh with nine points.

Carthage's
Mark Balmes (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) won both the shot put (52-7 ½) and the discus (158-0). The Red Men also picked up wins from
Camren Howard (Fr., Olympia Fields, Ill./Chicago Heights-Marian Catholic) in the 5,000-meter run (15:56.41),
Tyler Parsons (So., Woodstock, Ill.) in the 110-meter hurdles (15.29) and
Branden Miller (Sr., Winfield, Ill./Wheaton-North) in the javelin (164-0).Â
Dan Cotton (Fr., Carol Stream, Ill./Bartlett) was second in the 5,000-meter run (16:10.31), as was
Nick Hinton (Fr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) in the high jump (6-3 ¼), Alex Wilkinson (Jr., South Whitley, Ind./Whitko) in the pole vault (12-11 ½) and
Jonathan Bell (Fr., DeKalb, Ill.) in the discus (150-6).

Carthage travels to Wheaton, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, May 2-3 for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Wheaton College's McCully Stadium.
