Box ScoreThe Carthage women's tennis team (20-3, 7-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked No. 13 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's April 9 NCAA Division III-Central Region poll, fell to Augustana College (Ill., 22-8, 5-2), 5-3, in the semifinals of the CCIW Women's Tennis Automatic Qualifier Tournament, on Friday, April 24, at the Wheaton College (Ill.) Tennis Courts in Wheaton, Ill. Â The Vikings were ranked No. 18 in the regional poll.

Haleigh McPeek (Sr., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 22-5), ranked No. 20 in the region, was a winner at No. 1 singles, defeating the Viking's and No. 22 Lauren Goggin, 6-2, 6-2. Â
Max Mella (Fr., Warren, Ill./Warren Township, 17-10) fell at No. 2 singles to Dana Goggin, the latter winning 6-4, 6-2. Â
Abbi Howell (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 23-9) lost at No. 3 singles, as did
Taylor Bolyard (Fr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 17-6) at No. 4 singles, and
Kristen Kalinka (So., Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph, 9-4) at No. 5 singles. Â
Kirsten Peterson's (Jr., Hastings, Minn./Hastings, 21-4) match at No. 6 singles against Augustana's Vicki Andonova was left unfinished with a score of 5-7, 6-2, 3-1.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of McPeek and Mella (27-6) defeated the Viking's duo of Dana Goggin and Ali MacDonald, 8-6. The team of Bolyard and Kalinka (22-5) fell at No. 2 doubles, however, the pair of Howell and Peterson (9-3) defeated the duo of Miranda Pence and Andonova, 8-3.
