The Carthage College men's track and field team (25-6 outdoor record) finished sixth at the Friday-Saturday, April 17-18 Augustana College (Ill.) "Meet of Champions" at the Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex in Rock Island, Ill.
 
The host-Vikings won the 12-team event with 222.50 points, followed by Wisconsin-Stevens Point second at 141.50, Wisconsin-Whitewater third at 123, Olivet Nazarene University fourth at 108.50, Monmouth College fifth at 75, Carthage sixth at 73, Wisconsin-Platteville seventh at 55, Luther College eighth at 52, St. Ambrose University ninth at 49.50, Concordia University (Wis.) 10th at 14, the University of Dubuque 11th with eight points and St. Norbert College 12th with seven points.
 
Carthage's Branden Miller (Sr., Winfield, Ill./Wheaton-North) finished third in both the shot put (52-6) and the hammer throw (180-6).  Camren Howard (Fr., Olympia Fields, Ill./Chicago Heights-Marian Catholic) was third in the 5,000-meter run (15:44.06), as was Gus Shipp (Fr., Northbrook, Ill./Glenview-Glenbrook South) in the 110-meter hurdles (15.32),
 
Carthage travels to De Pere, Wis., on Saturday, April 25 for the Wisconsin Private College Outdoor Track and Field Championship at St. Norbert College's Donald J. Schneider Stadium, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
