Box ScoreThe Carthage College men's tennis team (15-6, 4-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin), ranked No. 16 in the April 9 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Division III Central Region poll, defeated conference-opponent Elmhurst College (7-5, 2-2 CCIW), 8-1, on Monday, April 13, at the Lester Brune Tennis Courts in Elmhurst, Illinois.
Pawel Jaworski (So., Deerfield, Ill./Lincolnshire-Stevenson, 13-10) fell at No. 1 singles, to the Bluejays' Chris Harrison, the latter winning 7-5, 6-1.
Alex Boomgarden (Jr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 20-4) was a winner at No. 2 singles, defeating Luke Tanaka 6-3, 6-4.
Ryan Jump (Jr., Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein, 18-3) won his match at No. 3 singles, as did
Jordan Verbauwhede (Jr., Whitelawe, Wis./Manitowoc-Lincoln, 18-8) at No. 4 singles,
Chris Conley (Jr., Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield Academy, 20-6) at No. 5 singles, and
Alex Ferruzzi (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Salem-Westosha Central, 16 -8) at No. 6 singles.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of Jaworski and Verbauwhede (16-6), ranked ninth in the region, defeated the Bluejays' duo of Harrison and Tanaka, 8-2. Boomgarden and Conley (17-4) were also successful at No. 2 doubles, as was the team of Jump and Ferruzzi (8-4) at No. 3 doubles.

The Red Men take on conference-opponent Augustana College (Ill.) on Saturday, April 18, in a 1:30 p.m. match at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.
