Loyola University (Ill.) won the 19-team event with 106 points, followed by Carthage second at 87, Wheaton College (Ill.) third at 84, the University of St. Francis (Ill.) fourth at 83, Lewis University fifth at 71, Aurora University sixth at 57, the Milwaukee School of Engineering seventh at 45, Benedictine (Ill.) and St. Xavier University tied for eighth place at 36 each, Illinois Wesleyan University 10th at 32, Concordia University (Ill.) 11th at 23, Trinity Christiana College 12th at 22, Cornell College 13th at 15, Elmhurst College 14th at 15, Concordia University (Wis.) 15th with nine points, an Illinois Wesleyan unattached team 16th with eight points, Eureka College 17th with seven points and Triton College 18th tied with Beloit College for 19th place with three points each.

Carthage's
Branden Miller (Sr., Winfield, Ill./Wheaton-North) was second in the hammer throw (175-9 ¼), the javelin (159-5 ¾) and the shot put (52-7 ½).Â
Mark Balmes (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) was third in the discus (164-1 ½), as was
Ron Banks (Sr., Waukegan, Ill.) in the triple jump (42-0 ½).

Carthage travels to Rock Island, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, April 17-18 for the Augustana College (Ill.) "Meet of Champions" at the Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex, beginning at Noon both days.
