The Carthage College men's tennis team (8-5, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated Hamilton College (5-4), 8-1, and then shut out Lawrence University (5-7), 9-0, on Tuesday, March 24 at Sanlando Park in Orlando, Fla.

Pawel Jaworski (So., Deerfield, Ill./Lincolnshire-Stevenson, 8-7) won both of his matches at No. 1 singles. Jaworski defeated Hamilton's James Oliver 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 and then Lawrence's David Jumes 6-2, 6-3. Alex Boomgarden (Jr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 14-3) also won both of his matches at No. 2 singles. Boomgarden defeated Hamilton's Matt Billet 7-5, 6-4 and then won against the Viking's Brian DeCorte 6-4, 7-5. Jordan Verbauwhede (Jr., Whitelawe, Wis./Manitowoc-Lincoln, 12-6) also won both of his matches at No. 3 singles, as did Chris Conley (Jr., Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield Academy, 14-5) at No. 4 singles, Ryan Jump (Jr., Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein, 11-3) at No. 5 singles, and Alex Ferruzzi (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Salem-Westosha Central, 9-6) at No. 6 singles.
 
The No. 1 doubles team of Jaworski and Verbauwhede (11-4) won both of their matches. Jaworski and Verbauwhede defeated the team of Austin Lokre and Max McKee-Proctor, from Hamilton, 8-2, and then the duo of Jumes and Sotaro Kurahashi, from Lawrence, 8-1. Boomgarden and Conley (9-4) also won both of their matches at No. 2 doubles, both scores being 8-2. Jump and Ferruzzi (3-3) split their doubles matches, falling to Hamilton's duo of Billet and Jon Cohen, 8-3, and then defeating Lawrence's pair of Mitch Kasprzyk and Ethan Perushek 8-1.
 
The Red Men take on Colby College Wednesday, March 25, at 5 p.m. at Sanlando Park in Orlando, Florida.
