The Carthage College men's track and field team (32-13 indoor record) finished seventh at the Saturday, Feb. 14 Chicagoland Indoor Championship at North Central College's Al Carius Track in Naperville, Ill.

The host-Cardinals won the 20-team event with 188.50 points, followed by Lewis University second at 83, the University of Chicago third at 58, Illinois-Chicago fourth at 52.50, Aurora University fifth at 41, Benedictine University (Ill.) sixth at 39, Carthage seventh at 36, Chicago State University eighth at 34, Wheaton College (Ill.) ninth at 30, St. Xavier University and Wisconsin-Parkside tied for 10th place at 23 points each, Calumet College of St. Joseph 12th at 16, Elmhurst College 13th at 14, Trinity Christian College 14th at 10, Robert Morris University (Ill.) 15th with five points, North Park University 16th with three points, Concordia University (Ill.) tied for 17th place with Illinois Tech and the College of DuPage at three points each, and DePaul University 20th with one point.

Carthage's Carthage's Branden Miller (Sr., Winfield, Ill./Wheaton-North) won the shot put (52-11 ½) and finished fourth in the weight throw (54-8). David Goodalis (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Central) was third in the weight throw (58-0 ½). Mike Brown (Sr., St. Charles, Ill./East) finished fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.09, set a Carthage indoor record of 7.04 in the preliminaries) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (22.63).
The Red Men travel to Bourbonnais, Ill., on Saturday, Feb. 21 for the Olivet Nazarene University Qualifier at the Perry Student Life Recreation Center, beginning at 10 a.m.
