Lady Reds Tennis Remains Undefeated After Shutting Out Millikin, 9-0.

The Carthage College women's tennis team (5-0, 3-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated Millikin University, 9-0, (3-1, 1-1 CCIW) on Friday, Sept. 12 at the Eastside Tennis & Fitness Club in Kenosha, Wis.
 
Haleigh McPeek (Sr. Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 4-1) defeated Millikin's, Paige Bequette, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Max Mella (Fr., Warren, Ill./Warren Township, 4-1) also won her match at No. 2 singles, defeating Millikin, 6-0, 6-2. Abbi Howell (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 4-2) at No. 3 singles, Eliza Barter (So., Deerfield, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola Academy, 4-2) at No. 4 singles, Taylor Bolyard (Fr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 4-0) at No. 5 singles, and Kirsten Peterson (Jr., Hastings, Minn./Hastings, 5-1) at No. 6 singles were also all successful in their matches.
 
The No. 1 doubles tandem of McPeek and Mella (8-0) and the No. 2 doubles duo of Howell and Barter (5-0) continue to be undefeated as they both won their matches against Millikin. Kristen Kalinka (So., Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph's) and Bolyard (5-1) also won at No. 3 doubles, defeating Millikin, 8-3.
 
Carthage was scheduled to play host to CCIW-opponent North Central College on Wednesday, Sept. 17, but that match was postponed until Monday, Oct. 6, still 4 p.m. at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.  On Friday-Sunday, Sept. 19-21, the Lady Reds travel to St. Peter, Minn., for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Midwest Regional Tournament at Gustavus Adolphus College.
