Box Score The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (11-6, 8-2 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) seeded second, opened Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament play on Friday, May 2 with a 15-14 win in triple-overtime over third-seeded Concordia University (Wis., 12-5, 8-2 MWLC) at Augustana College's Thorsen-Lucken Field in Rock Island, Ill. 

In the other semifinal contest, top-seeded and No. 27 Augustana (Ill., 17-0, 10-0 MWLC) defeated fourth-seeded North Central College (9-6, 8-2), 16-9.  Carthage takes on Augustana (Ill.) in the Saturday, May 3 championship game at 7:30 p.m.
 
In the semifinal victory, Carthage jumped out to a six-goal lead, 8-2, at 14:48 first period, but Concordia whittled that down to 9-6 at halftime.  The Falcons scored the first three goals of the second period to tie the game, 9-9, but the Lady Reds responded  with three unanswered goals of their own to go back up by three, 12-9, at 15:35 second period. Carthage was leading by two, 13-11, with under six minutes to go, but Concordia scored twice in the final minute and 14 seconds, including a goal by Jenna Brown with six seconds remaining, to tie the contest at 13-13.  The two teams traded goals in the first overtime period and then played a scoreless second overtime.  In the third overtime, Carthage's Mackenzie Day (Fr., Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek) scored the game-winner on a free position shot with 1:22 to go.
 
Sydney Whitaker (Sr., Bainbridge, Wash.) led the Lady Reds with four goals and a ground ball.  Lauren Chatham (Sr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) had two goals, two assists and two ground balls, Elizabeth Wittenborg (So., Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) two goals, two assists and one ground ball, Hannah Bellenbaum (Jr., Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego) two goals, and Madison Griffin (Fr., Parker, Colo./Ponderosa) and Mackenzie Day each had two goals and a ground ball.  Sammi Reiter led Concordia with five goals and one assist.
