Men's Lacrosse Defeats Elmhurst, 16-6, on April 9

Red Men Play Illinois Wesleyan and Dubuque on Saturday in Bloomington, Ill.

Box Score The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (9-4, 5-1 Midwest Lacrosse Conference) defeated conference-opponent Elmhurst College (4-7, 2-4 MLC), 16-6, on Wednesday, April 9 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.  The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Red Men.
 
Carthage led, 7-1, after the first period, 11-3 at halftime, and 12-5 going into the final period.  Jack Meachum (Sr., Naperville, Ill./North) led the Red Men with four goals, one assist and six ground balls.  Timothy Francis (Jr., Costa Mesa, Calif./Huntington Beach) had three goals and four assists.  Jared Ferrell (So., Trabuco Canyon, Calif./El Toro), John Salerno ((So., Western Springs, Ill./La Grange-Lyons Township), Tanner Thomas (So., Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit) and Billy Lane (Fr., Centennial, Colo./Kent Denver) scored two goals each.
 
On Saturday, April 12, the Red Men travel to Bloomington, Ill., for a doubleheader at Illinois Wesleyan University's Tucci Stadium.  Carthage plays the University of Dubuque at Noon, followed by a 4 p.m. contest with the host-Titans.
