Box Score The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (6-4, 3-1 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) was edged by conference-opponent North Central College (5-3, 4-0 MWLC), 17-16, on Tuesday, April 8 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in Naperville, Ill.
The Cardinals led, 11-6, on halftime. The Lady Reds fell behind by five goals, 13-8, at 20:05 second period, but Carthage took eight of the next 11 goals to tie the game, 16-16, at 6:43 on a goal by
Madison Griffin. Kassie Waling scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at 4:58, assisted by Jordyn McFarlane.
Rachel Houp led the Cardinals with four goals, one assist and two ground balls.
Lauren Chatham (Sr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) topped the Lady Reds with six goals, one assist and two ground balls.
Sydney Whitaker (Sr., Bainbridge, Wash.) scored five times with two assists and two ground balls, and
Madison Griffin (Fr., Parker, Colo./Ponderosa) had three goals, two assists and five ground balls.
Carthage returns to the west suburbs on Friday, April 11 by traveling to Lisle, Ill., on Friday, April 11 to take on conference-foe Benedictine University (Ill., 1-8, 0-3 MWLC) in a 7 p.m. contest at the Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.
