Carthage's
Alex Boomgarden (So., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 16-9) defeated the Titans' George Alex at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.
Ryan Jump (So., Mundelein, Ill., 15-8) lost to Martijin van Dooren at No. 2 singles, the latter winning, 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Pawel Jaworski (Fr., Deerfield, Ill., 16-6) was a winner at No. 3 singles, as was
Chris Conley (So., Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield Academy, 13-9) at No. 4 singles,
Tony O'Connell (So., Roswell, N.M./Natabua, 16-7) at No. 5 singles and
Alex Ferruzzi (So., Kenosha, Wis./Salem-Westosha Central, 12-9) at No. 6 singles. Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of
Pawel Jaworski and
Chris Conley (5-4) defeated Illinois Wesleyan's George Alex and Martijin van Dooren, 8-4. The Red Men's No. 2 team of
Alex Boomgarden and
Ryan Jump (5-3) won their match, as did the No. 3 tandem of
Tony O'Connell and Alex Feruzzi (3-2).
Carthage travels to Rock Island, Ill., on Saturday, April 12 to play a CCIW double-dual match at the Augustana College (Ill.) tennis courts. The Red Men take on the host-Vikings at 9 a.m. and Millikin University at Noon.
