Men's Lacrosse Falls to Whittier, 14-9, on April 6

Red Men Play Host to Elmhurst on Wednesday

Box Score The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (8-4, 4-1 Midwest Lacrosse Conference) lost to non-conference-opponent Whittier College (7-3), 14-9, on Sunday, April 6 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.  The loss was the third in a row for the Red Men, who won eight of their first nine games this season.
 
Whittier led, 6-4, at halftime and 9-7 after the third period.  Goals by Timothy Francis and Jack Meachum brought Carthage to within a goal, 10-9, at 10:14 fourth period, but the Poets ran off four unanswered goals to end the game, 14-9.
 
Hunter Hall and Jonathan Kassity had three goals each for Whittier.  Jack Meachum (Sr., Naperville, Ill./North) led the Red Men with three goals, one assist and four ground balls.  Jared Ferrell (So., Trabuco Canyon, Calif./El Toro) had two goals, two assists and two ground balls, and Timothy Francis (Jr., Costa Mesa, Calif./Huntington Beach) added two goals, one assist and two ground balls.
 
Carthage plays host to conference-opponent Elmhurst College (4-6, 2-3 MLC) on Wednesday, April 9 in a 7 p.m. game at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
