Red Men Travel to Aurora for Saturday's Title Game

Box Score The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (15-5, 8-2 Midwest Lacrosse Conference) opened play in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Tournament on Wednesday, April 30 with a 10-5 win over Concordia University (Wis., 14-4, 9-1 MLC) in a semifinal game at Fitting Field in Mequon, Wis.  In the other semifinal contest, Aurora University (14-3, 10-0 MLC) defeated  Augustana College (Ill., 9-7, 6-4 MLC), 15-6, at Vago Field in Aurora, Ill.  Carthage will take on Aurora in the Saturday, May 3 title game, also at Vago Field, beginning at 1 p.m.
 
After trailing, 4-3, at halftime, Carthage opened the second period with six unanswered goals to take 9-4 lead at 9:59 fourth period.  The Falcons scored their only goal of the second at 6:51 fourth period.
 
Jack Meachum (Sr., Naperville, Ill./North) led the Red Men with three goals and two assists.  John Salerno (So., Western Springs, Ill./La Grange-Lyon Township) had two goals and one assist, while Tanner Thomas (So., Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit) scored two goals.  Danny Dahms scored one of the five Falcon goals and added an assist.
