Men's Lacrosse Falls to Concordia (Wis.), 9-5, on April 23

Red Men Travel to Hanover on Saturday

Box Score The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (13-5, 7-2 Midwest Lacrosse Conference) lost to conference-opponent Concordia University (Wis., 13-3, 8-1 MLC), 9-5, on Wednesday, April 23 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.  With the loss, Carthage fell into third place in the league standings behind Aurora University (9-0) and Concordia (Wis., 8-1).
 
The Red Men led the Falcons, 3-2, after the first period, but Concordia scored four unanswered goals to take a 6-3 halftime lead.  Each team scored twice in the third period, with the Falcons leading, 8-5, going into the final period.  Concordia took a 9-5 lead in the opening seconds of the final period, and that was it for the scoring.
 
Matt Larsen led the Falcons with three goals.  Sam Wladyka had two goals, and Danny Dahms added three assists.  John Salerno (So., Western Springs, Ill./La Grange-Lyons Township) led the Red Men with two goals, while Billy Lane (Fr., Centennial, Colo./Kent Denver) had two assists.
 
On Saturday, April 26, the Red Men close out their regular-season schedule by traveling to Hanover, Ind., for a 1 p.m., EDT game against league-opponent Hanover College (9-6, 5-4 MLC) at L.S. Ayres Field.
