Box Score 2 The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (11-4, 5-1 Midwest Lacrosse Conference) swept a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12 at Illinois Wesleyan University's Tucci Stadium in Bloomington, Ill. Carthage swamped the University of Dubuque (0-11), 31-1, before defeating the host-Titans (8-3) by a 24-6 margin.
In the Dubuque game,
Danny Morse (Sr., O'Fallon, Ill/O'Fallon Township) led the way with five goals and three assists, and Jered Ferrell (So., Trabuco Canyon, Calif./El Toro) scored five goals. In the win over Illinois Wesleyan, Carthage led, 6-0, after the first period, 12-2 at halftime and 18-3 going into the final period.
Jack Meachum (Sr., Naperville, Ill./North) led the Red Men with seven goals, three assists and five ground balls.
Timothy Francis (Jr., Costa Mesa, Calif./Huntington Beach) and
John Salerno (So., Western Springs, Ill./La Grange-Lyons Township) scored four goals each, and
Danny Morse added three goals. Colin Daly led the Titans with two goals.
The Red Men travel to Rock Island, Ill., on Wednesday, April 16 to play conference-opponent Augustana College (Ill., 8-3, 5-1 MLC) in a 7 p.m. game at Thorson-Lucken Field.
