Men's Lacrosse Opens the 2014 Season by Splitting with Calvin and Albion in Beverly, Mich.

Red Men Travel to Centre College on Feb. 23

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (1-1, 0-0 Midwest Lacrosse Conference) opened its 2014 season on Friday, Feb. 7 by splitting a pair of indoor games in Michigan. The Red Men defeated Calvin College (0-1), 23-1, at Detroit Country Day High School in Beverly Hills, Mich., before losing to Albion College (1-0) by a 15-12 margin at the Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac, Mich.

In the win over Calvin, Carthage's Timothy Francis (Jr., Costa Mesa, Calif./Huntington Beach) and Zack Patton (So., O'Fallon, Mo./DeSmet Jesuit) each scored four goals with an assist. Jack Meachum (Sr., Naperville, Ill./North) scored three goals with seven assists and eight ground balls, and Danny Morse (Sr., O'Fallon, Ill/O'Fallon Township) three goals with four assists, Jared Ferrell (So., Trabuco Canyon, Calif./El Toro) and both had three goals and one assist.

In the Albion contest, Francis had a game-high six goals, while Ferrell collected two goals with three assists and two ground balls. The Red Men travel to Danville, Ky., on Sunday, Feb. 23 to play Centre College in a Noon, EST game at Joe McDaniel Field at Farris Stadium.
