The Carthage College women's tennis team (5-2, 3-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) saw its five-match win streak come to end on Tuesday, Sept. 17 with a 7-2 loss to CCIW-opponent Wheaton College (Ill., 4-2, 2-1 CCIW) at the Wheaton Tennis Courts in Wheaton, Ill.

Bari Reynolds (Sr., Sterling, Ill., 5-2) lost to the Thunder's Sarah Ray at No. 1 singles, Ray winning, 6-4, 6-2.
Haleigh McPeek (Jr. Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 4-3) lost to Julie Buursma at No. 2 singles, Buursma winning, 7-6(5), 6-4.
Abbi Howell (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 5-5) lost at No. 3 singles, as did
Eliza Barter (Fr., Deerfield, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola Academy, 5-5) at No. 4 singles.
Holly Weber (Sr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 6-1) was a winner at No. 5 singles, as was
Kristen Kalinka (Fr., Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph, 2-1) at No. 6 singles.
The Lady Reds' No. 1 doubles team of Reynolds and McPeek (8-2) lost to Wheaton's Sarah Ray/Julie Buursma, 8-4. Carthage's No 2 team of Howell and Barter (4-3) lost to the Thunder, as did the Lady Reds' No. 3 tandem of Weber and
Kristen Kalinka (Fr., Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph, 8-2).
On Friday-Sunday, Sept. 20-22, the Lady Reds play in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Midwest Regional Tournament at Gustavus Adolphus College's Brown Tennis Courts in St. Peter, Minn.
