Red Men Play Host to Aurora in a Battle for the Conference Title on Saturday Night

Box Score The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (14-2, 9-0 Midwest Lacrosse Conference) paved the way for a season-ending showdown for the Midwest Lacrosse Conference title by defeating MLC-opponent Elmhurst College (2-10, 1-8 MLC), 26-7, on Wednesday night, April 24 at Langhorst Field in Elmhurst, Ill. 

Carthage plays host to Aurora University (11-3, 8-0 MLC) on Saturday, April 27 in a 6 p.m. contest at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis., with the winner claiming this year's championship.
 
In the win over Elmhurst, Carthage led, 7-6, after the first period, 13-4 at halftime and 24-6 going into the final period.  Peter Slefinger (Sr., Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) led the Red Men with five goals and three ground balls.  Danny Morse (Jr., O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township), Jared Ferrell (Fr., Trabuco Canyon, Calif./El Toro) and Nick Condon (Sr., Ballwin, Mo./St. Louis-Christian Brothers College H.S) had three goals and one ground ball each, while Jack Meachum (Jr., Naperville, Ill./North) scored three goals.  Hunter Douglas (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) was 25-of-29 in faceoffs with 21 ground balls. Tyler Dailey led the Bluejays with three goals.
