Red Men Travel to Elmhurst on Wednesday

Box Score The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (13-2, 8-0 Midwest Lacrosse Conference) remains undefeated in Midwest Lacrosse Conference play after defeating Concordia University (Wis., 8-6, 5-3 MLC), 10-6, on Tuesday, April 23 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.  The Falcons contest was a makeup from a rain out on Wednesday, April 17.  Carthage is in a first-place tie with Aurora University (11-3, 8-0 MLC) in the conference standings.
 
Carthage led, 3-1, after the first period, 7-2 at halftime and 8-3 going into the final period.  Three unanswered Falcon goals cut the lead to 8-6 with 4:55 to play, but the Red Men came back with goals by Timothy Francis at 3:04 and Peter Slefinger at 2:25 for the final, 10-6 margin. 

Peter Slefinger (Sr., Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) led the Red Men with four goals and two ground balls, while Mason Poage (Sr., Columbia, Mo./Hickman) had two goals.  Hunter Douglas (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) was eight-of-19 in face offs.  Matt Larsen and Justin Krause scored two goals each for Concordia.
 
The Red Men travel to Elmhurst, Ill., on Wednesday, April 24 to play conference-opponent Elmhurst College (2-9, 1-7 MLC) in a 7 p.m. game at Langhorst Field.
