"We had enough time to execute a play at the end of the game," said Carthage coach
Bosko Djurickovic. "but you have to take the ball end-to-end better than that. We lost to a very good basketball team . They'll win 28 or 29 games. Tyler Semenas hurt us in the first half with 10 rebounds, five on the offensive boards. Our offensive execution at the end of the first half was bad, and we were chasing. We made better decisions in the second half, but we turned the ball over too much. This was a good ball game, it just didn't work out. Calvin is a great place to play, but this weekend's CCIW/MIAA Challenge is going to be a very tough weekend."
Carthage travels to Grand Rapids, Mich., this weekend for the 10th annual CCIW/MIAA Challenge at Calvin College's Van Noord Arena. The Red Men take on No. 11 Calvin (5-1) on Friday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. (all times EST), with Wheaton College (Ill., 4-2) playing Hope College (1-3) at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 7, Carthage meets Hope at 1 p.m., with Calvin playing Wheaton (Ill.) at 3 p.m.
