The Carthage College women's swimming team (5-0 dual-meet record) edged CCIW-opponent Wheaton College (Ill.), 145-143, on Saturday, Jan. 19  at the Chrouser Fitness Center Pool in Wheaton, Ill.  The Lady Reds remain undefeated this season with five dual-meet wins and victories in two invitationals.
 
Ember McCoy (Jr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) won both the 500 freestyle (5:19.51) and the 1,000 freestyle (10:52.38), while taking third place in the 200 freestyle (1:59.40).  Natalia Bialecka (Jr., Des Plaines, Ill./Park Ridge-Maine East) won both the 50 freestyle (24.94) and the 100 freestyle (54.88), while Kelsey Sopron (Jr., La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township ) won both the one-meter diving (1.11) and three-meter diving (1.12). 

Kelly Loftus (Jr., Winfield, Ill./West Chicago) won the 200 butterfly (2:12.43) and took second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.04).  Allison Soper (So., Downers Grove, Ill./North) won the 100 breastroke (1:09.74) and took third in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.16).  Lisa Perdue (So., Whittier, Calif.) was second in the 100 freestyle (54.93) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:26.47), while Ashley Gladis (So., Batavia, Ill.) was second in the 200 individual medley (2:16.31) and third in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.85).  Michelle Hance (Fr., Noblesville, Ind.) was second in the 100 backstroke (1:02.14).  Susan Peinsipp (Jr., Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) took third place in the 100 butterfly (1:10.95), as did Sarah Wodnik (Jr., Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar) in the 200 individual medley(2:18.32).
 
Carthage plays host to the Wisconsin Private College Swimming Championship on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis., beginning at Noon.
