The Carthage College women's tennis team (2-2, 2-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) split a Saturday, Sept. 8 CCIW double-dual match at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.  Carthage lost to Wheaton College (Ill., 3-0, 3-0 CCIW), 9-0, in the first contest before blanking Millikin University (0-3, 0-3 CCIW) by a 9-0 margin in the second match.
 
Carthage's Bari Reynolds (Jr., Sterling, Ill., 5-2) fell at No. 1 singles to Wheaton's Sarah Ray, Ray winning, 6-1, 6-3.  Reynolds then defeated Millikin's Cydney Boyd, 6-0, 6-0.  Haleigh McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 5-2) lost to the Thunder's Kirsten Boyer at No. 2 singles, Boyer winning, 6-3, 6-1.  McPeek followed with a win over the Big Blue's Kelly Commons, 6-0, 6-0. 
 
Erin Henrickson (So., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South, 2-2) split at No. 3 singles, as did Abbi Howell (So., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 2-2) at No. 4 singles, Kirsten Peterson (Fr., Hastings, Minn., 3-3) at No. 5 singles and Holly Weber (Jr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 2-2) at No. 6 singles.  Reynolds and McPeek (3-1) split at No. 1 doubles, as did the No. 2 team of Hendrickson and Howell (3-4) and the No. 3 tandem of Peterson and Weber (2-2).  Carthage travels to Rock Island, Ill., on Friday, Sept. 14 to play CCIW-opponent Augustana College (Ill.) in a 3:30 p.m. match.
