The Carthage College women's tennis team (4-4, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) completed its regular-season fall-schedule on Saturday, Sept. 29 with a 5-4 loss to Carroll University (Wis., 8-2) at the Kilgour-Trailblazer Courts in Waukesha, Wis.
Carthage's
Bari Reynolds (Jr., Sterling, Ill., 8-6) lost to the Pioneers' Abigail Pellett at No. 1 singles, Pellett winning, 2-6, 6-2, 1-0.
Haleigh McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 10-3) won over Kate Rasmussen at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-4.
Erin Henrickson (So., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South, 5-6) lost at No. 3 singles.
Abbi Howell (So., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 7-5) was a winner at No. 4 singles.
Kirsten Peterson (Fr., Hastings, Minn., 4-6) lost at No. 5 singles, but
Holly Weber (Jr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 5-2) was a winner at No. 6 singles.
Reynolds and McPeek (9-2) won their No. 1 doubles match. The No. 2 team of Hendrickson and Howell (8-6) lost to Carroll (Wis.), as did the Lady Reds' No. 3 tandem of Peterson and Weber (2-5).
Carthage travels to Oak Brook, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 5-6 for the CCIW Women's Tennis Championship at the Oak Brook Tennis Center (9 a.m. both days).
