Carthage 8, Elmhurst 1

The Carthage College women's tennis team (3-3, 3-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) defeated CCIW-opponent Elmhurst College (0-6, 0-3 CCIW), 8-1, on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the Lester Brune Courts in Elmhurst, Ill.
 
Carthage's Bari Reynolds (Jr., Sterling, Ill., 5-4) fell at No. 1 singles to the Bluejays' Annie Duggan, Duggan winning, 6-4, 6-1.  Haleigh McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 7-2) defeated the Bluejays' Nicole Darga at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0.  Erin Henrickson (So., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South, 3-3) was a winner at No. 3 singles, as was Abbi Howell (So., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 3-3) at No. 4 singles, Kirsten Peterson (Fr., Hastings, Minn., 4-4) at No. 5 singles and Holly Weber (Jr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 3-2) at No. 6 singles. 

Reynolds and McPeek (5-1) won their No. 1 doubles match, as did the No. 2 team of Hendrickson and Howell (5-4) and the No. 3 tandem of Peterson and Weber (3-3). 

Carthage travels to St. Peter, Minn., on Friday-Sunday, Sept. 21-23 to play in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Midwest Regional Championship at Gustavus Adolphus College.
