The Carthage College women's tennis team (10-6, 5-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) blanked Concordia University (Wis., 10-4), 9-0, on Wednesday, April 11 at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.
Carthage's
Hollis McPeek (Sr., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 11-9) defeated Concordia's Meagan Harrington, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1 singles, with
Bari Reynolds (So., Sterling, Ill., 17-6) winning over Julie Spransy, 6-3, 6-42, at No. 2 singles.
Haleigh McPeek (Fr., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 3-3) was a winner at No. 3 singles, as was
Kristina Naidicz (Sr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 11-11) at No. 4 singles,
Erin Henrickson (Fr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South, 6-15) at No. 5 singles and
Abbi Howell (Fr., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 2-2) split at No. 6 singles.
Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of McPeek and McPeek (6-0) won their match, 8-2, over Harrington and Spransy. The Lady Reds' No. 2 team of Reynolds and Naidicz (2-4) was a winner, as was Carthage's No. 3 tandem of Henrickson and Bizub (3-3).
Carthage travels to Waukesha, Wis., on Friday, April 13 to play Carroll University (7-5) in a 3 p.m. contest.
