The Carthage College women's swimming team (2-0 dual-meet record) defeated Lake Forest College, 168-75, on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 3 at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
Carthage's
Ember McCoy (Jr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) won three events, taking first place in the 200 freestyle (1:59.28), the 500 freestyle (5:19.57) and the 1,000 freestyle (11:01.57).
Michelle Hance (Fr., Noblesville, Ind.) won both the 50 freestyle (25.28) and the 100 freestyle (55.36).
Kelly Loftus (Jr., Winfield, Ill./West Chicago) won both the 100 backstroke (1:01.93) and the 200 backstroke (2:12.20).
Susan Peinsipp (Jr., Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) won the 200 butterfly (2:17.81), and
Ashley Gladis (So., Batavia, Ill.) won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.23).
Lisa Perdue (So., Whittier, Calif.) was second in both the 50 freestyle (25.30) and the 500 freestyle (5:28.89), as was
Kailyn Gebner (Fr., Naperville, Ill./Central) in both the 100 backstroke (1:03.53) and the 200 backstroke (2:16.38) and
Allison Soper (So., Downers Grove, Ill./North) in both the 100 breaststroke (1:11.12) and the 200 breaststroke (2:31.01).
Kailin Potter (Fr., Granger, Ind./Perin) took second in the 100 freestyle (55.47), as did
Mary Devereux (Fr., Chicago, Ill./Oak Park-Fenwick) in the 200 butterfly (2:20.81) and
Taylor Hutton (So., Naperville, Ill./North) in the 1,000 freestyle (11:21.25).
The Lady Reds also picked up a win from their 200 medley relay team of Hance, Soper, Loftus and Potter. Carthage travels to Bloomington, Ill., on Saturday, Nov. 10 to face Illinois Wesleyan University in a 1 p.m. dual meet at the Fort Natatorium.
