The Carthage College women's swimming team (3-0 dual-meet record) defeated Illinois Wesleyan University, 193-96, on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Fort Natatorium in Bloomington, Ill.
Carthage had three double-winners.
Ember McCoy (Jr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) won both the 200 freestyle (1:59.99) and the 500 freestyle (5:20.29).
Kelly Loftus (Jr., Winfield, Ill./West Chicago) won both the 100 backstroke (1:03.60) and the 200 backstroke (2:15.99), and
Allison Soper (So., Downers Grove, Ill./North) took first in both the 100 breaststroke (1:11.55) and the 200 breaststroke (2:32.08).
Ashley Gladis (So., Batavia, Ill.) won the 200 individual medley (2:17.44) while taking second in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.89).
Susan Peinsipp (Jr., Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) took second place in both the 100 butterfly (1:02.47) and the 200 butterfly (2:19.97), and
Michelle Hance (Fr., Noblesville, Ind.) was second in both the 50 freestyle (25.25) and the 100 freestyle (55.67).
Jordan Duncan (Fr., Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) was second in the 100 backstroke (1:04.36), as was
Kailyn Gebner (Fr., Naperville, Ill./Central) in the 200 backstroke (2:17.44),
Liz Olson (Fr., Forest City, Iowa) in the 200 breaststroke (2:36.18) and
Taylor Hutton (So., Naperville, Ill./North) in the 1,000 freestyle (11:26.73).
The Lady Reds also picked up a win from their 200 medley relay team of Hance, Soper, Gladis and
Natalia Bialecka (Jr., Des Plaines, Ill./Park Ridge-Maine East) and their 400 freestyle relay team of
Lisa Perdue (So., Whittier, Calif.), McCoy, Hance and
Kailin Potter (Fr., Granger, Ind./Perin).
Carthage travels to Crawfordsville, Ind., on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 16-17 for the Wabash College “Patrick Woehnker Invitational” at the Wabash Class of 1950 Natatorium (6 p.m./11 a.m., EDT).
