The Carthage College women's tennis team (5-2, 4-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) edged CCIW-opponent Illinois Wesleyan University (2-3, 2-2 CCIW), 5-4, on Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Beadles-Morse Courts in Bloomington, Ill.

Carthage's Hollis McPeek (Sr., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 3-4) lost to the Titans' Andrea Kerwin at No. 1 singles, Kerwin winning, 6-4, 6-4. Bari Reynolds (So., Sterling, Ill., 6-1) defeated Illinois Wesleyan's Helen Alex, 6-1, 7-5, at No. 2 singles. Kristina Naidicz (Sr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 5-2) was a winner at No. 3 singles. Erin Henrickson (Fr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South, 3-4) lost at No. 4 singles. Abby Ludwig (Fr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge, 4-3) was a winner at No. 5 singles, as was Amanda Bizub (Sr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 6-1) at No. 6 singles.

Carthage's No. 1 double team of McPeek and Naidicz (7-0) was a winner over the Titans. The Lady Reds' No. 2 team of Reynolds and Hendrickson (5-2) lost to IWU as did the No. 3 tandem of Ludwig and Bizub (4-3).

Carthage travels to Wheaton, Ill., on Tuesday, Sept. 20 play conference-opponent Wheaton College (Ill., 5-2, 4-0) in a 4:15 p.m. match.
