The Carthage College women's tennis team (9-6, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) defeated Carroll University (Wis., 6-8), 7-2, on Wednesday, April 6 at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.
Hollis McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 10-10) defeated Carroll University's Kate Rasmussen, 6-3, 7-6(3), at No. 1 singles, but
Bari Reynolds (Fr., Sterling, Ill., 14-10) lost to Alyssa Larson, 6-4, 5-7, 10-4, at No. 2 singles.
Kristina Naidicz (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 13-6) was a winner at No. 3 singles.
Kelsey Bowen (Fr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 4-13) lost at No. 4 singles.
Amanda Bizub (Jr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 12-6) was a winner at No. 5 singles, as was
Holly Weber (Fr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 4-12) at No. 6 singles. Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of McPeek and Naidicz (15-7) was a winner over the Pioneers. as was the Lady Reds' No. 2 team of Reynolds and Bizub (8-7) and the No. 3 tandem of Bowen and Weber (2-1).
Carthage plays host to Olivet Nazarene University on Thursday, April 14 in a 4 p.m. match, also at the Smeds Tennis Center.
