The Carthage College women's tennis team (11-7, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) concluded its regular-season schedule on Friday, April 29 with a7-2 win over Concordia University (Wis., 11-8) at the North Shore Country Club in Mequon, Wis.
Hollis McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 11-12) lost to the Falcons' Kaitlyn Strehlow at No. 1 singles, the latter winning, 6-3, 6-2.
Bari Reynolds (Fr., Sterling, Ill., 16-11) defeated the Concordia's Meagan Harrington, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles.
Kristina Naidicz (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 15-7) was a winner at No. 3 singles, as was
Amanda Bizub (Jr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 13-8) at No. 4 singles contests,
Kelsey Bowen (Fr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 5-15) at No. 5 singles and
Holly Weber (Fr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 6-13) at No. 6 singles.
Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of McPeek and Naidicz (17-8) was a winner over Concordia, as was the Lady Reds' No. 2 team of Reynolds and Bizub (9-9). The No. 3 tandem of Bowen and Weber (2-4) fell to the Falcons.
Carthage concludes its 2010-11 season by playing in the Friday-Saturday, May 6-7 CCIW Automatic Qualifying Tournament at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Ill. The Lady Reds take on Augustana College (Ill.) in a semifinal match on Friday, May 6, with Illinois Wesleyan University taking on Wheaton College (Ill.) in the other semifinal contest.
