The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (8-8, 6-1 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) closed out its regular-season schedule on Wednesday, April 27 with a 14-11 loss to North Central College (7-6, 4-3 MWLC) in a non-conference game at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.

The Cardinals led the Lady Reds, 6-4, at halftime, and North Central out-shot Carthage, 26-19. Caroline Gully led the Cardinals with five goals, while Danielle Fiala had four goals. Hannah Sopeth (Jr., Lakeville, Minn./North) led the Lady Reds with four goals. Sydney Whitaker (Fr., Bainbridge, Wash.) had two goals and two assists., while Natalie Ceis (So., Seattle, Wash./Seattle Prep) added two goals and one assist.

The Lady Reds open play in the inaugural Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament on Friday, April 29. Adrian College will play host to that four-team event at its Multisport Performance Stadium in Adrian, Mich., on Friday-Saturday, April 29-30. The top-four teams qualify for the tournament. Top-seeded Adrian (15-4, 7-0 MWLC) will play fourth-seeded North Central College (7-6, 4-3) in a 6:30 p.m., EDT semifinal game on Friday, April 29, with second-seeded Carthage (8-8, 6-1) taking on third-seeded Trine University (7-5, 5-2) in the other semifinal contest at Noon, EDT. The Saturday, April 30 championship game gets underway at 1 p.m., EDT.
