The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (9-1, 2-0 Midwest Men's Lacrosse Conference) defeated conference-opponent Fontbonne University (2-8, 0-2 MMLC), 17-8, on Saturday, April 2 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.

Fontbonne took an early, 2-1 lead, but the Red Men stormed back to outscore the Griffins, 13-1, over the next two and one-half periods. Carthage's defense blanked Fontbonne in both the second and third quarters. Cory Childs (Sr., Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) led the Red Men with five. Mason Poage (So., Columbia, Mo./Hickman) had four goals and an assist, Mike Upshaw (So., Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill) three goals and three assists, and Keegan Bowman (Jr., New Westminster, British Columbia/New Westminster Secondary) added three goals and two assists.

Carthage travels to Angola, Ind., on Saturday, April 9 to play conference-opponent Trine University (6-2, 0-2) in a 1 p.m., EDT game at Shive Field.
