The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (1-4, 0-0 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) completed its three-game spring trip to the Pacific Northwest on Saturday, March 19 with a 12-9 loss to the University of Puget Sound (2-4) at Baker Stadium in Tacoma, Wash.
Carthage led at halftime, 8-7, but the Lady Reds were outscored, 5-1, in the second period. Puget Sound out-shot Carthage, 35-19. Julia Schulman led the Loggers with five goals and one assist, while Jessica McDonald had two goals and two assists. Carthage's Sydney Whitaker (Fr., Bainbridge, Wash.), playing in her native-Pacific Northwest, scored two goals with one assist, as did Hannah Sopeth (Jr., Lakeville, Minn./North). Desirae Murphy (So., Savage, Minn./Burnsville) had two goals, and Andrea Renton (Fr., Pleasanton, Calif./Foothill) collected six ground balls.
Carthage plays host to MWLC-opponent Adrian College on Saturday, March 26 in a 3 p.m. game at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
