Spring Trip to the Pacific Northwest Concludes on Saturday at Puget Sound

The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (1-3, 0-0 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) snapped a three-game losing streak at the start of the season on Thursday, March 17 with a 20-7 win over Linfield College (0-2) at the Linfield Lacrosse Field in McMinnville, Ore.

Carthage led, 10-4, at halftime and pulled away to a 13-point margin in the second period, 20-7. The Lady Reds out-shot the Wildcats, 39-17. Carthage's Sydney Whitaker (Fr., Bainbridge, Wash.), playing in her native-Pacific Northwest, scored five goals, as did Desirae Murphy (So., Savage, Minn./Burnsville). Kate Flanagan (Sr., Wheeling, Ill.) added three goals. Anna Gorciak led Linfield with two goals and an assist.

Carthage's three-game trip concludes on Saturday, March 19 with a 1 p.m., PST tilt versus the University of Puget Sound at Peyton Field in Tacoma, Wash.
