The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (0-3, 0-0 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) opened a three-game spring trip to the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday night, March 15 with an 11-9 loss to Pacific University (3-0) at Lincoln Park Stadium in Forest Grove, Ore.
Pacific led by two points at halftime, 8-6, and never led by more than three points. The Boxers out-shot the Lady Reds, 19-11 and had a 15-11 edge in ground balls. Kelly Stevens led Pacific with four goals, while Monica Smith had two goals and three assists. Anna Schweiss (Fr., Parker, Colo./Chaparral) topped Carthage with four goals, with Sydney Whitaker (Fr., Bainbridge, Wash.) scoring three times.
On Thursday, March 17, Carthage takes on Linfield College in a 4:30 p.m., PST game at the Linfield Lacrosse Field in McMinnville, Ore. The trip concludes on Saturday, March 19 with a 1 p.m., PST tilt versus the University of Puget Sound at Peyton Field in Tacoma, Wash.
