The Carthage College women's tennis team (7-3, 5-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) defeated non-conference opponent Carroll University (Wis., 7-2), 6-3, on Saturday, Oct. 1 in a Homecoming match at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis. 

Carthage's Hollis McPeek (Sr., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 6-6) defeated the Pioneers' Abigail Pellett, 3-6, 6-3, 10-3, at No. 1 singles, and Bari Reynolds (So., Sterling, Ill., 10-4) won over Alyssa Larson, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles.  Kristina Naidicz (Sr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 8-5) was a winner at No. 3 singles.  Erin Henrickson (Fr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South, 3-9) lost at No. 4 singles, as did Abby Ludwig (Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge, 6-4) at No. 5 singles and Amanda Bizub (Sr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 6-4) No. 6 singles. 

The Lady Reds' No. 1 doubles team of McPeek and Naidicz (13-1) defeated Carroll (Wis.), as did Carthage's No. 2 team of Reynolds and Henrickson (7-6).  The No. 3 tandem of Ludwig and Bizub (4-6) fell to the Pioneers. 

Carthage plays host to the CCIW Women's Tennis Championship on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 7-8 at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis..  In case of inclement weather, the championship will be moved to the Racine Racquet & Fitness Club in Racine, Wis.
