The Carthage College men's swimming team (5-2 dual-meet record), ranked 22nd in the Dec. 15 CollegeSwimming.com/College Swimming Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III poll, lost to NCAA Division I Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 189-69, on Sunday, Jan. 16 at the Klotsche Center Natatorium in Milwaukee, Wis.

 

Carthage's Doug Schranck (Jr., Alton, Ill./Marquette Catholic) finished second in the 100 butterfly (53.66), as did Mike Moravek (Jr., Rolling Meadows, Ill./Palatine-Fremd) in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.71), Kyle Drake (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) in the 400 individual medley (4:31.30) and Eric Ross (Jr., West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) in the 500 freestyle (5:06.96). 

Ryan Ortmann (Jr., Woodstock, Ill.) was third in the 50 freestyle (22.02), as was Blake Bendix (Sr., St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) in the 100 butterfly (56.00), Kyle Rasmussen (Fr., Mount Horeb, Wis.) in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.30), Adam Glover (Jr., Eureka, Mo.) in the 400 individual medley (4:38.53) and Eric Primdahl (Fr., Kildeer, Ill./Arlington Heights-St. Viator) in the 500 freestyle (5:08.63). The Red Men travel to Wheaton, Ill., on Saturday, Jan. 22 to take on Wheaton College (Ill.) in a 1 p.m. dual meet at the Chrouser Fitness Center Natatorium.
