The Carthage College women's tennis team (6-2, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) edged CCIW-opponent North Central College (9-3, 3-3 CCIW), 5-4, on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.  

Carthage's Hollis McPeek (Jr., Lake Bluff/Lake Forest, 5-5) lost to North Central's Cory Schillerstrom at number-one singles, Schillerstrom winning, 5-7, 6-3, 11-9.  Bari Reynolds (Fr., Sterling, Ill., 7-6) defeated Alicia DeGrado, 6-0, 6-3, at number-two singles.  Kristina Naidicz (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 7-3) was a winner at number-three singles versus the Cardinals.  Kelsey Bowen (Fr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 4-4) lost at number-four singles.  Amanda Bizub (Jr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 7-1) was a winner at number-five singles, but Holly Weber (Fr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 3-4) lost at number-six singles.
 
The Lady Reds' number-one doubles team of McPeek and Naidicz (9-3) was a winner over the Cardinals, as was the number-two team of Reynolds and Bizub (4-2).  Carthage's number-three tandem of Weber and Kaitlyn Farrell (Sr., Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township, 4-5) lost to North Central. On Saturday, Oct. 2, the Lady Reds travel to Waukesha, Wis., for a 1 p.m. contest at Carroll University.
