Lady Reds Travel to ITA Tournament at Gustavus Adolphus This Weekend

The Carthage College women's tennis team (5-2, 3-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) defeated CCIW-opponent Elmhurst College (3-4, 1-3 CCIW), 7-2, on Sunday, Sept. 19 in Elmhurst, Ill. 

Carthage's Hollis McPeek (Jr., Lake Bluff/Lake Forest, 4-3) defeated the Bluejays' Virginia Dallman, 6-2, 6-0, at number-one singles, and Bari Reynolds (Fr., Sterling, Ill., 5-5) defeated Sabrina Ruff, 6-1, 6-2, at number-two singles.  Kristina Naidicz (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 5-1) was a winner at number-three singles, as was Kelsey Bowen (Fr.,
Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 4-3) at number-four singles and Amanda Bizub (Jr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 6-1) at number-five singles. Holly Weber (Fr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 3-3) lost to Elmhurst at number six singles.  

The Lady Reds' number-one doubles team of McPeek and Naidicz (7-2) was a winner over the Bluejays, as was the number-two team of Reynolds and Bizub (3-1). Carthage's number-three team of Weber and Kaitlyn Farrell (Sr., Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township, 2-2) lost their match.  Carthage travels to St. Peter, Minn., on Friday-Sunday, Sept. 24-26 to play in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Midwest Regional Tournament at Gustavus Adolphus College.
